New Directions is seeking a skilled and compassionate Mobile Crisis Worker (QMHP) to provide
rapid, trauma-informed crisis response and crisis respite support for individuals experiencing behavioral
health emergencies. This role combines field-based mobile crisis intervention with clinical assessment
and support within the Crisis Respite Center, offering meaningful, high-impact work in a close-knit

About the Role
The Mobile Crisis Worker provides in-person crisis response in accordance with Oregon Administrative
Rules and delivers clinical assessments and ongoing support for individuals accessing crisis respite
services. The role requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration, and comfort working in dynamic,
high-acuity situations.

Key Responsibilities
– Respond to community-based behavioral health crises within required timeframes
– Conduct crisis, safety, and risk assessments and provide de-escalation
– Collaborate with 988, law enforcement, EMS, hospitals, and community partners
– Provide referrals, linkage, and follow-up to support continuity of care
– Conduct Crisis Respite Center admission screenings and assessments
– Provide ongoing mental health support and discharge planning for respite clients
– Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and reporting

– Participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement activities

Required Qualifications
– Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) per OAR 309-019
– Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
– 2+ years of experience in crisis or emergency behavioral health services
– Strong skills in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning
– Knowledge of Oregon crisis, mobile response, and respite program standards
– Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation
– Valid Oregon driver’s license and ability to pass background checks

Preferred Qualifications
– Experience in Mobile Crisis or Crisis Respite programs
– Bilingual and/or bicultural skills
– Familiarity working with law enforcement and emergency departments

Work Environment
– In-person field-based crisis response and onsite respite work
– May include evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation
– High-acuity clinical environment requiring strong safety awareness
